the Data+AI Side Event for the 10th STI Forum

Background:

The United Nations Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum 2025) is a high-level annual platform convened under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It brings together governments, scientists, innovators, and civil society to advance the role of science, technology, and innovation in achieving the 2030 Agenda.

As part of the 10th STI Forum in 2025, this side event titled "Data+AI for Sustainable Industries Growth" will explore how data and artificial intelligence (AI) can transform industrial systems, enable sustainable economic practices, and promote inclusive development. Through keynote presentations and global case studies, the event will highlight how advanced technologies are reshaping value chains, driving productivity, and enhancing global cooperation toward the SDGs.

Key discussion themes include:

AI-Driven Data Utilization:Enhancing insights, optimizing productivity, and fueling innovation through AI-powered analytics.
Data-Enabled AI Advancement: Strengthening AI models with high-quality data to support intelligent decision-making.
Sectoral Case Studies:Demonstrating AI-driven sustainable practices in finance, transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, and energy, alongside inclusive economic strategies.
Collaborative Frameworks: Addressing governance, ethical challenges, and cross-sector partnerships for scalable Data+AI adoption.
